Description How to Grow More Info Delivery
Also known as Sweet Tea Vine or Jiaogulan, this vigorous climber originates from the forests of China where it is used as a medicinal herb. In the UK it makes a fantastic vigorous ground cover plant or quick climber for a shady corner, where it produces lots of palmate, glossy green leaves. Tiny pale yellow flowers may also appear in summer. Gynostemma pentaphyllum is frost tender so is best grown in patio containers or lifted from borders and brought under cover over winter. Height and Spread: Up to 4m (13').

Culinary information: Some parts of these flowers are edible. Click here for more details about edible flowers.

1 x 1 Litre Potted Plant (58370)

Sweet Tea Vine should be planted in any moist, but well drained soil, in dappled shade. Use a soil-based potting mix such as John Innes No. 3. when growing on containers. Gynostemma are tender, so give them protection if you intend to grow them as a perennial.
Whilst these plants can be quite sort-lived, they can be kept in a frost free position during the winter. Cut back right down to the base of the plant in the spring
