Delightful rosebud flowers in a mixture of pastel shades appear in late winter and spring above neat rosettes of crinkly green foliage. Plant this cheery Primrose 'Primlet Monet Mix' in containers and borders or grow them indoors as a colourful spring houseplant. Height and spread: 20cm (8"). Supplied as plug tray plants.

Culinary information: Some parts of these flowers are edible. Try the sweet tasting petals on top of salads or even pancakes, crystallise them for use as cake decorations too. For more details about edible flowers click here.

Pot up primrose plug plants and grow them on in cool conditions for transplanting later on. When primlet plants are well grown acclimatise them to outdoor conditions over 7 to 10 days prior to planting them in their final positions. Grow primlet plants in containers or borders in any moist well drained soil. Choose a position in full sun or semi shade.

Feed and water plants regularly. Take care not to over water during the winter months as cold, wet conditions may cause the plants to rot. Deadhead faded primlet flowers to encourage more blooms to be produced. In autumn, apply a mulch of well rotted manure or garden compost to the base of border grown plants. Lift and divide primroses in overcrowded clumps during spring to maintain vigorous, healthy growth.
