Chenopodium foliosum is an amazing, dual purpose plant for both the herb and flower garden. The light green leaves can be cooked and used like spinach, and the later strawberry like fruits along the stems can be picked and eaten fresh! Try growing some Strawberry Sticks in groups in patio pots or the garden border for an unusual yet attractive display. Height and spread: 60cm (24"). Supplied as plug plants.

Pot up plug plants and grow them on in cool, bright, frost free conditions. When Strawberry Sticks plants are well grown, gradually acclimatise them to outdoor conditions over 7 to 10 days prior to transplanting them into their final positions outdoors. Plant Chenopodium in any fertile, well drained garden soil in full sun. This hardy annual may also be grown in containers on the patio for an attractive edible crop.

Feed and water Strawberry Sticks plants regularly. Harvest leaves as and when required. The fruits can be harvested as they ripen to a rich scarlet red colour.

Seeds and garden supplies will normally be delivered within the time period stated against each product as detailed above. Plants, bulbs, corms, tubers, shrubs, trees, potatoes, etc. are delivered at the appropriate time for planting or potting on. Delivery times will be stated on the product page above, or in your order acknowledgement page and email.
