Rodgersia aesculifolia bears small star-shaped pink flowers in large conical panicles in summer, above 2ft stems emerging from its Horse Chestnut-like leaves. This tough perennial plant originated in northern China and is perfectly suited to the edge of garden ponds and damp, waterlogged borders. It looks particularly good when planted next to Hostas and Ferns. Height: 2m (6.6′). Spread: 1m (39).
